Deep Purple Announce New Album and 2025 World Tour Featuring Classic Lineup and Unreleased Tracks

Legendary British rock band Deep Purple has thrilled fans by announcing the release of a brand-new album, accompanied by a world tour slated for 2025. This highly anticipated tour will feature the band’s classic lineup, a rare treat for longtime followers, and will include unreleased tracks that have never been performed live.

The announcement comes as a surprise to many, as the band, which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, had been relatively quiet in recent years. Deep Purple’s last studio album, Whoosh!, was released in 2020 to critical acclaim, but the band had hinted at slowing down. The upcoming album, as yet untitled, promises to delve into both new material and archival recordings, bringing fresh energy to their storied legacy.

The 2025 world tour is expected to kick off in Europe in late spring, before heading to North America, South America, Asia, and Australia. Fans can expect a setlist that blends their greatest hits, such as Smoke on the Water, Highway Star, and Child in Time, alongside the newly revealed tracks. This tour marks a major moment for rock music lovers, as it will feature the return of classic lineup members, including Ian Gillan (vocals), Roger Glover (bass), Ian Paice (drums), Steve Morse (guitar), and Don Airey (keyboards).

Speaking on the upcoming release, Ian Gillan commented, “This is something we’ve been quietly working on for a while. We found some old gems that never made it to the albums back in the day, and it feels right to share them now. We’re also writing new material that reflects where we are today as musicians and people.”

The album’s first single is expected to drop in early 2025, and anticipation is already building for what promises to be one of the biggest rock events of the year.

Tickets for the world tour will go on sale in December 2024, with presales available to fan club members.
